Consistency in both design and performance should be a major consideration when choosing the right ironing center for your home. The complete IRON-A-WAY product line works together in form and function to produce the same level of excellence with each model. It’s something IRON-A-WAY calls integrity.

IRON-A-WAY is a company that offers a variety of premium built-in ironing centers - so IRON-A-WAY is a company that can offer truly consistent design, while delivering the quality and performance that makes IRON-A-WAY a true market leader. Models differentiate in options and exceptional features, but all models are crafted using the same quality materials. This enables you the flexibility to choose the ironing center that truly fits your needs. Whether you must have the greatest conveniences offered or the budget conscious whose main thrust is function, IRON-A-WAY has a model to match your mindset.

IRON-A-WAY Inc. is ISO 9001:2008 Certified

IRON-A-WAY Inc. recently was certified and registered by Intertek Testing Services NA, Inc. into the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.

The system provides a number of requirements which our company has fulfilled in order to achieve customer satisfaction through consistent products and services which meet customer expectations.  ISO 9001:2008 is maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization and is administered by accreditation and certification bodies, such as Intertek.  The rules are updated, as the requirements motivate changes over time.  Some of the requirements in ISO 9001:2008 (which is one of the standards in the ISO 9000 family) include:

  • a set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business;
  • monitoring processes to ensure they are effictive;
  • keeping adequate records;
  • checking output for defects, with appropriate and corrective action where necessary;
  • regularly reviewing individual processes and the quality system itself for effectiveness; and facilitating continual improvement.

Our company was assessed based on an extensive sample of its functions, products, and processes; a list of problems ("action requests" or "non-compliances") made known management.  If there are no major problems on this list, or after it receives a satisfactory improvement plan from management showing how any problems will be resolved, the certifications body, in our case Intertek, issues an ISO9001:2008 certificate.

IRON-A-WAY is UL Approved

Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is an independent product safety certification organization established in 1894 with its company headquarters located in Northbrook, Illinois. UL develops standards and test procedures for products, materials, components, assemblies, tools and equipment, chiefly dealing with product safety. UL also evaluates and certifies the efficiency of a company's business processes through its management system registration programs.

If your electrician asked if IRON-A-WAY is UL approved, you can reply, "Yes."  IRON-A-WAY was UL approved on November 4, 1965, and is in good standing.

We are required to have regular UL inspections.  Be impressed that your electrician did investigate the approval.  Just because the components are UL approved does not mean that they have been approved for use within a specific application.  Our Control No. 275L is specifically for ironing center use.

Tip Of The Day

Oct, 14 22
Pressing costs between $3 to $5 per garment. At about 5 outfits per week can add up to $25 or more or $1300 per year. By investing one time in a quality built-in ironing center and ironing your own clothes, the product is paid for within six months and you will save dramatically on future dry cleaning expenses. This is not to mention gas and the inconvenience of dropping and picking up your garments.
