HOW TO INSTALL A REPLACEMENT ELECTRICAL OUTLET

TOOLS NEEDED:  1/4" Nut Driver, Flathead Screwdriver, Phillips Screwdriver, Pliers

NOTE:  For easier installation of your replacement electrical outlet, completely remove the electrical cover from the attached electrical raceway.  This is completed by disconnecting the ground wire, and the main electrical supply wire.

Carefully examine how these are wired as you will need to reconnect these wires prior to re-installing your electrical cover.

Step 1

Shut off power at service entrance before rewiring or servicing this product.

Step 2

Open electrical panel by removing the hex screw found at the top of the raceway.  Next remove the hex screw found at the bottom of the raceway located behind the electrical outlet.

If you have a Model A-46 follow Steps 3 and 4 for directions on disconnecting electrical outlet wiring.

If you have a Model A-42 or E-342 w/spotlight follow Steps 5 through 7 for directions on disconnecting electrical outlet wiring.

If you have a Model E-342 with no spotlight follow Steps 8 through 10 for directions on disconnecting electrical outlet wiring.

Once above steps are complete for your model, continue to Step 11.

Step 3

MODEL A-46

Remove the wires from the electrical outlet marked "Plug."  Remove the black wire "AT7" by pulling on clear terminal.

Step 4

Then remove the white wire "AT8" by pulling on other clear terminal.

Step 5

MODEL A-42 or E-342 with Spotlight

There are two bundles of wires held together with wire nuts.  One black bundle and one white bundle.  Unscrew the wire nuts from these in a counter-clockwise direction.

Step 6

Remove the long white wire and the long black wire leading from the electrical outlet from these bundles.

Step 7

If you have not already done so, you will need to remove the green screw attaching the green ground wire from the elctrical outlet to the raceway bottom.

Step 8

MODEL E-342 with no Spotlight

There is one bundle of white wires held together with wire nuts.  Unscrew the wire nut in a counter-clockwise direction.

Step 9

Remove the long white wire from the electrical outlet from this bundle.

Step 10

Then remove the long black wire from the rocker switch by pulling on the blue terminal.

Step 11

The electrical outlet is held in place by springs on the sides of the outlet.  With your flathead screwdriver, pry each black spring away from the outlet.

Step 12

The spring may break off.  If not, using needle nose pliers, remove the springs on each side.

Step 13

Remove old outlet and slide the wires from the new outlet through the hole in the raceway bottom pushing until it snaps in place.

If you have the Model A46, reconnect the wires from the electrical outlet using Steps 4 & 5.

If you have the Model A-42 or E-342 w/spotlight, reconnect the wires from the electrical outlet using Steps 6, 7 & 8.

If you have the Model E-342 with no spotlight, reconnect the wires from the electrical outlet using Steps 9, 10 & 11.

Before returning the electrical cover to the raceway you will need to reconnect the ground wire and the main electrical power supply iwre.  Being careful not to pinch any wires, place the electrical cover back onto the raceway.

Replace hex screws in top and bottom of raceway.  Restore power to unit.

Pressing costs between $3 to $5 per garment. At about 5 outfits per week can add up to $25 or more or $1300 per year. By investing one time in a quality built-in ironing center and ironing your own clothes, the product is paid for within six months and you will save dramatically on future dry cleaning expenses. This is not to mention gas and the inconvenience of dropping and picking up your garments.
